How to create a photo gallery.

>. Login to the site

>. Click on Gallery across the top

>. You should see the dark blue gallery area apear

>. Click "Your Album" in the upper right hand corner of that area.

>. At this point you can do 1 of two things either

   A: post a picture in your default album or

   B: create a new album.

>A. Post a picture in your default album

 If you would just like to post pictures to your default album click "Add a Photo"

This will bring you to a screen where you can upload pictures.

The first blank area is file. Click "browse" to the right of the area and navigate on your computer to file you want to upload and double click it.

The path of that file should fill into the blank area.

Below the area is a Caption area. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO DESCRIBE YOUR PICTURE HERE.

This is the area that is searchable so if you upload a picture of Steve Kitchen (cuz I'm sure there are a million Steve Kitchen pictures out there)

then just add Steve Kitchen to the caption. A good example of a caption may be:

This is Steve Kitchen from the class of 1988 at the senior prom.

With that caption this image will come up if someone searches for "Steve Kitchen", "Class of 1988", or "senior prom". By now I’m sure you’ve all realized this is just a giant ego trip for me :)

You can upload all your photos here if you have more then two photos you would like to upload then click the "More Upload Boxes" option.

Scroll down and leave the "Create Thumbnails Now" selected.

Then Click Add Items

Your images will then be sent to the admin for approval. It may look like your album is empty but that is only temporary until we view the images and approve them. We will do this as often as possible so please be patient.

>A. To create a new album (i.e. Senior Prom - 1993)

Click the "Add Album" link under Options on the left side of the dark blue area.

This will bring you to a screen to name the album by typing in a name in the first blank area /YourUserename/?????

Then add a summary to the album. A brief sentence or two that describes what the subject of the album is.

Add keywords that others may use to search for

If you would like to create a very detailed description of each picture in the album you may do that too but it's not really needed.

Now your album is created. There will be tabs along the top to add features to your album. I'm not familiar with them yet so I'm going to say go on :)

I think you'll get the hang of it if you give it a try and remember we will have to review the images posted so you may think you did something wrong when your album comes up empty but chances are you did it right and we just have to approve it.
